An Incredible Year

While this past year may have had many faults, it has also had many life altering, dream lifting memories and lessons I'll keep for the rest of my being. It may seem silly that I'm writing about this mid 2013, but it was this time last year when my focus on life was changing and I didn't know it yet, but my life was about to go on a roller coaster. From meeting Ana Wintour, to experiencing Fashion Night Out in NYC, going to the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference, Teen Vogue Fashion University and making amazing new friends I have to say thank you. I still have no idea what exactly I'm going to be doing a year from now but I feel extremely excited for what paths may lie ahead and I couldn't have done it without any of my friends and family. Thank you so much.

Best of Both Worlds

Top/Mail Chimp, Trousers/ Forever 21, Belt/Betsey Johnson, Bag/Vintage Gucci, Loafers/ Thrifted

One thing you may start to notice while looking through pictures of me would be that my hair is forever changing. I used to be so attached and afraid of doing anything bold with my hair. Thats forever changed. I love having colors in my hair, it suits my personality and is a reminder to never take myself too seriously in any situation.
I'm a manager at a retail store called Zumiez and while there isn't a dress code per say.. I am limited on what I can and can't wear... or say SHOULD wear. AKA NO SKIRTS OR DRESSES. I just hate wearing leggings under skirts and dresses so they are a no go. Leggings by themselves on the other hand, now thats more like it. I try to mix up pieces in order to still be comfortable and somewhat fashionable at work. This job has really brought out my tom boy side that I've missed. I'm hoping to expand on that and mature my style within the next year.. I mean shit. I am turning 23 in October....

Fashionable Friends

I want to use this blog to also show off how awesome my friends tend to dress as well! I have amazing friends and look up to many of them for inspiration and role models. This also includes my co workers whom I consider some of my closest friends simply because I see them the majority of the week.
I love that fashion is always evolving and one trend can go from white trash to high fashion in a season. Working at Zumiez has exposed to me many more street brands that are slowly trickling into to high fashion scene. Eva Chen sports Diamond Supply hats white relocating to LA for the summer and Chiara from the Blonde Salad wears Stussy tees. I on the other hand absolutely love mixing casual shirts with pencil skirts. It keeps me true to my tomboy roots.

Here is Stache. While he may not have an actual mustache, "because the ladies tend to prefer me with out it", it is what he had gone by since the day he hopped on a skateboard. While he may deny it, Stache is a clothes whore, and while I may have more clothes then him he is extremely picky with the style and fit of his button downs and the inseam and stretch of his denim. While he may not wear fitted suits and brogues he appreciates outfit coordination and understands how to put things together with out looking like a "douche."

He wears a Nixon watch, Huf socks, Rebel 8 shirts, Krew pants, Supras and Ray Ban sunnies.

Fresh from the Start

Overalls/Zara, T shirt/ Express, Floral Bra/Zara, Necklace C/O my roommate, Sandals, Lorenzo Chelini
Photos by my sister

Welp, here goes post number one! I'm super excited about starting this new project and seeing where it takes me. This blog is for me. To start something fresh, to stay on track and see my progress. Lots has changed in my life lately and I want to be able to document as much as I can.
For starters, when I bought the shirt I'm wearing now, I didn't even try it on, or notice the giant slits in the sleeves! It was very out of character for me to buy something on impulse. This led to my trying it on at home and being extremely disappointed with the cut and shape of the shirt when worn alone. Thus it sat alone in my closet for a good three months before I finally wore it here! I found this amazing pair of overalls at Zara when I was visiting Austin with friends. I fell in love with the unique color and shape of the garment.
I don't know why I didn't bother to stand up for the photos... the outfit probably would have been much more flattering.
